On, April 15, 1993, a ceremony was held donating the completed Strand Park Square to the city of West Frankfort. The Strand Park Square was completed by the C. A. R. E. association and volunteers using donated building materials as well as monetary donations. The Strand Park Square site was the one-time home of the Strand Theatre. This was the last standing theatre in West Frankfort.

The Strand Park Square, which stands on the corner of Main Street and Anna Street, is adjacent to the Miner’s Memorial and Park as well as the Historical Military Museum which is housed in the old train depot
